Well, 2010 has been quite a year! It started with bringing
out a new book at Valentine's Day - FOR YOUR HEART ONLY - the third in the
Sweet Military Anthology Series. What great
fun to be able to tell a new story and hear that people have enjoyed it.
The next major event was packing up our home of 11 years and moving
from Huntsville, Alabama to the Washington, DC area for my husband's
job. It took a little legwork and a lotta luck, but we found a
wonderful new house that we just fell in love with. I've been
renovating and decorating room by room and it's finally looking more
like a home and less like the warehouse scene from Indiana Jones'
Raiders of the Lost Ark. This past winter holiday season in
the new place has been just glorious. Snow and a warm cozy
fireplace in the new den. Heavenly!!!
Along with all the "wonderful new adventures in moving" that
come with a major life transition like we've had, we did have a bit of an
upset. My husband Charles fell down the stairs of our new home and
broke his hip ... so along with being in major nesting mode ever since we
moved in, I've also been in caregiver mode as well - although my husband
refers to it as "turning into Nurse Cratchit."
However, the itch to write is growing too strong to ignore any longer (all
those characters have been screaming to be born and are getting quite
noisy locked away in my head) and I've begun work on three different books
that I hope you'll have as much fun reading as I'm having writing.
They should be out in mid-late 2011. More on them later.
I hope that 2011 is a wonderful, prosperous, healthy and happy new
year for each of us.
Warm
Regards and Happy Reading,
DC DeVane
